The National Geographic TOPO! 4 Upgrade CD Kit is an upgrade for the previous generation of TOPO! State Series products. It is an upgrade for TOPO! State products Windows version 2.6.0 and higher, Mac version 3.x.x and higher, sold prior to February 2006. TOPO! 4 Upgrade CD Kit was previously sold under the name TOPO! Streets & 3-D Views Expansion Pack. The features contained in TOPO! 4 Upgrade CD (TOPO! Streets & 3-D Views previously) are included in the Version 4 TOPO! State that is currently available.

3-D Views and Fly-Throughs:
TOPO! 4 Upgrade CD Kit upgrades the TOPO! State Series maps with 3-D views, fly-throughs, streets, and live map updates. You can look down the valley, or stand on top of a mountain and "look" around to see the views. TOPO!'s 3-D viewer and animated fly-through enable you to fly along the trail you've drawn as it winds and climbs to your destination. You can even stop anywhere along the trail and zoom and pan to see the view. TOPO! 4 Upgrade resizeable split screens make it easy to expand any screen for better viewing.
Updated Streets and Roads:
With TOPO! 4 Upgrade you can easily lay an updated road network on the 1:24,000 and 1:100,000 scale USGS TOPO! maps. From freeways to forest roads, TOPO! 4 Upgrade gives you the confidence to find your destination in any of the 50 states.
Live Map Updates:
You can get the latest USGS quad maps and updated roads for any of the TOPO! State Series products. Live Map Update automatically searches your defined area to see if something new is available, and gives you the tools to quickly download new information to replace older quads and roads.
Windows System Requirements and GPS Receiver Support:
TOPO! 4 Upgrade CD Kit requires a TOPO! State Series PC product version 2.6.0 or higher. It will run on Windows 98, 2000, ME, and XP, and requires DirectX version 9 or greater (included on the installation CDs). An 8MB or more video card that is DirectX 9 compatible is required for 3-D views. TOPO! 4 Upgrade works with most popular handheld GPS receivers manufactured by Garmin, Eagle, Lowrance, and Magellan. Direct link requires USB port and USB-to-Serial converter cable (sold separately by third parties).
